Located in Peru Mountains, Machu Picchu is one of the most popular travel destinations. Thanks to Incas now we can enjoy these citadel and temple placed at 2430 m above sea level, surrounded by gorgeous green peaks of Andes. Visiting Machu Picchu you can take a closer look at its giant walls, terraces and ramps located on the eastern slope above the sacred valley.

The setting is about 80 km from city of Cusco and you can reach it by train, bus or with organized tour. It is most visited in July and August, so if you are planning to visit Machu Picchu in this period you can expected a lots of people, in fact then it is crowded. Especially at Sundays when locals are allowed to visit the site for free.

The entry price is about $45 per person and it is not allowed to bring with you any drones, trekking poles, walking sticks or umbrellas. If you can’t walk without stick you should use protective rubber tips over the ends. If you visited this historical site, don’t miss to get your stamps beside the entrance gates.

If you want to avoid the crowds you can stay at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, which is very close to the Incas heritage and you can visited it early in the morning or late afternoon when the crowds are gone.
